It’s really rare that Artbox* offer discount any other time than November 1st each year, but they promised they would give us a voucher code for 15% off for 24 hours if they surpassed 4500 Facebook likes. Today is the day! I’ve already treated myself to a Moomin mug haul because I couldn’t resist the big discount and it’s also my 21st Birthday on Saturday so it’s a nice little treat to myself~
I’m really excited for them to arrive! They should be here within 24-48 hours as they weigh over 2kg so Artbox send them out with a courier. I was planning on getting them in Finland this summer but they work out the same price with the voucher and now I don’t have to worry about them breaking in my suitcase :)
Just a quick update showing you the new Arabia collections coming April 2014. These are the designs that are replacing the old mugs from 1999.
The Moomin Shop in London’s Covent Garden have been planning their redecoration for a while, so when I visited in November I was terribly excited to see it in person. It’s so vibrant, full of life and you can definitely tell a lot of time and effort was put into making it so wonderful. There is a huge mural that fills the entire wall and even a postbox so you can leave your messages to Moominvalley. This post is very picture heavy but that’s the best way to show you how brilliant it is!
This blog post will be dedicated to Moomin world (Muumimaailma). I went on Tuesday July 31st. It took two hours to get to Turku from Helsinki, so we opted for the early 8am train. The trains are lovely, they have free wifi and even a children’s play area. The prices are amazing too, being only 60€ for a return trip. When we arrived in Turku, we walked to the Holiday Inn where the Moomin bus departed from. This was only a ten minute walk and the bus was 12€ for a return. When we first got there, it was nearing 11am so I decided to go straight to the art gallery at Mannerheiminkatu 5 next to the Moomin Shop to see the new museum about Moominworld (but that is for another blog post).
As a passionate Moomin lover and also cake baker, I thought that I would post a countdown of my favourite Moomin cakes that I have seen on the internet – and believe me, there are more than 25, so this was really hard for me!
25 – This was found on Vesselin väkerrykset‘s blog. I really love the Groke and I think this looked like great fun to make. Not many people like her because she is scary, but she just wants to be loved!
24 – The Moomin cake at the Bury art museum on October 24th 2010 for the Magical Moominvalley exhibition. It was simple yet beautiful. I stole one of the boats!
