The Moomin Shop in London’s Covent Garden have been planning their redecoration for a while, so when I visited in November I was terribly excited to see it in person. It’s so vibrant, full of life and you can definitely tell a lot of time and effort was put into making it so wonderful. There is a huge mural that fills the entire wall and even a postbox so you can leave your messages to Moominvalley. This post is very picture heavy but that’s the best way to show you how brilliant it is!
It’s that wonderful time of year again when Artbox offer 20% off all their products in celebration of Hello Kitty’s Birthday with the voucher code ‘birthday‘ at the checkout! Every year for the past three years I’ve taken advantage of this amazing deal, as they are the cheapest retailers of Moomin merchandise, so even more of a discount is always appreciated. This offer is only valid until the end of November 1st 2013, please don’t miss out! So, what have I bought?! Well, most of my order consists of Christmas presents for my friend Nina in Finland, but I got myself a couple of things that I can share here without ruining the surprise:
A few weeks ago I ventured to London to go to Hyper Japan and the Finnish Christmas Fair. Hyper Japan didn’t have a lot of Moomin merchandise, except for what the Artbox stall sold, but the Finnish Christmas Fair did, and the Scandinavian market outside. It was like being back in Finland – I didn’t realise there were so many Finnish people living in London. Apparently there are around 10,000! Sadly I didn’t manage to take any pictures inside (I was too busy eating lovely food and drinking lonkero/long drink) but here is a picture of my overall haul of the weekend:
As expected, I got tons of Moomin products for Christmas. I chose most of them off Artbox in November because they were offering a 20% off discount code for one day, so Tomm spent £150 there. They have the 2011 limited edition bubbles mug so I had to get that before it shot up in price.
I basically chose all the things I always wanted to get but never had the money for because they weren’t necessities, and Artbox is my favourite place to get anything cute from.
Christmas is so hectic! Luckily we managed to get all our presents in November so we’ve just been relaxing. Of course, we put up our small Christmas tree at the start of December and added Moomin baubles and the new 2011 mini mugs.
