It’s really rare that Artbox* offer discount any other time than November 1st each year, but they promised they would give us a voucher code for 15% off for 24 hours if they surpassed 4500 Facebook likes. Today is the day! I’ve already treated myself to a Moomin mug haul because I couldn’t resist the big discount and it’s also my 21st Birthday on Saturday so it’s a nice little treat to myself~
I’m really excited for them to arrive! They should be here within 24-48 hours as they weigh over 2kg so Artbox send them out with a courier. I was planning on getting them in Finland this summer but they work out the same price with the voucher and now I don’t have to worry about them breaking in my suitcase :)
It makes me so happy that Artbox* are now stocking the new 2014 Jubilee mug! This mug is very limited edition and celebrates Tove Jansson’s centenary. It is taken from The Dangerous Journey book where a girl called Susanna loses her glasses. There are glasses to be found in every 6th mug which makes them even more special and collectable! €2 for every sale goes towards the charity Unicef.
I didn’t expect this mug to be stocked anywhere in the UK anytime soon so I ordered mine on eBay from Finland and it cost me about £65 for one with glasses. But at least I’ve got it! I expect the prices to soar for these mugs and they may even be worth a few hundred pounds in the near future ;)
Moomin are also having a giveaway of this mug over on their new website!
It’s been a really good few weeks for Moomin merchandise lately, and I’m so pleased with the new products that are available. Firstly, Topshop released two new pairs of underwear and a new set of pyjamas in less than a week. They usually only bring out a new pair of underwear every month or two! The pyjamas are very oversized and perfect to snuggle into, with the softest material they’ve ever used. Previously, the grey t-shirts were 92% cotton, 8% polyester, whereas the new white t-shirts are 60% cotton and 40% polyester.
It’s that wonderful time of year again when Artbox offer 20% off all their products in celebration of Hello Kitty’s Birthday with the voucher code ‘birthday‘ at the checkout! Every year for the past three years I’ve taken advantage of this amazing deal, as they are the cheapest retailers of Moomin merchandise, so even more of a discount is always appreciated. This offer is only valid until the end of November 1st 2013, please don’t miss out! So, what have I bought?! Well, most of my order consists of Christmas presents for my friend Nina in Finland, but I got myself a couple of things that I can share here without ruining the surprise:
It’s an exciting week this week, because from April 22nd-29th Artbox have a special 10% discount code on orders for stationary, stickers and cards. It’s in aid of ‘Stationary Week’ so it’s definitely a deal to take advantage of seeing as the only other time they have vouchers is for their Birthday on November 1st. It’s also free delivery on orders over £20!
Amongst some of the products on offer in these categories are the amazing tapes, including the washi tape set. They would be a great craft idea for things like Wreck This Journal, sketchbooks, papercraft or just general Sellotape needs.
It’s a shame that items from the Arabia Moomin range must be discontinued, but this means there will be new products coming soon. For collectors, this means having to rush around to source these products before they increase in value – therefore, I have compiled a list of the products and where to find them for the best prices.
Happy first day of spring! I expect Snufkin will be arriving in Moominvalley today and will whistle under Moomintroll’s window to let him know he is there, then he will start his adventures with his friends – annoying the park keeper, playing his mouth organ and let’s not forget sitting around the campfire with a mug of hot coffee. Do you think Snufkin drinks from this Arabia mug?
One of the most collectible pieces of merchandise in the Moomin community has to be the mugs. I always swore I would never collect them because there are so many and they are very expensive – the most costly one being upwards of £3,000. But when I arrived in Finland in the summer of 2011, I couldn’t help but grab a couple that were on sale for 10€. And that’s where my collection began.Every year Arabia release at least three mugs – a character one in spring, a limited edition summer one and a limited edition Christmas/winter one. Last year there were five which included the usual three as well as one to celebrate Helsinki winning the World Design Capital and one to celebrate Stockmann’s 150th anniversary.
For 2013, you can now pre-order the character ones at Artbox – yes, there are two this year! These are Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden to replace the old ones from 1999 and 2001.
At £14.50 each (£16.25 including postage, or free on orders over £20), these are competitively the cheapest place to get any of the Arabia mugs outside of Finland. You’ll find them elsewhere for around £17, sometimes without postage so you should definitely snap up this bargain! Be quick because once all the preorders are gone, they are unsure as to when they will be getting new stock.
I forgot to mention yesterday that Artbox have reduced the prices of their mugs from £15.90 to £14.50! They also have a lot of new stationary like notebooks (which I plan to buy before I start my placement at a hospital soon). I bought a pen recently but it snapped before I even used it, but luckily superglue managed to fix it.
I’ve just realised they’ve also updated their stock too – these two products have just shown up:
They’re really cheap too, only £4.40 each.
As expected, I got tons of Moomin products for Christmas. I chose most of them off Artbox in November because they were offering a 20% off discount code for one day, so Tomm spent £150 there. They have the 2011 limited edition bubbles mug so I had to get that before it shot up in price.
I basically chose all the things I always wanted to get but never had the money for because they weren’t necessities, and Artbox is my favourite place to get anything cute from.
I recently made a huge order of about £180 worth of Moomin products on Artbox for my Christmas presents. This site sells some exclusive items, such as cards, keyrings and this little beauty:
